1. How much feed should I give to my rabbit?
when it comes to feeding both adult and baby rabbits need unlimited hay(grass),give them fresh hay everyday but when it comes to veggies and pallets it varies.keep a fresh bowl of water near them and change the water in that water bowl everyday
adult rabbits: A healthy adult rabbit should weigh around 2kgs
- If your rabbit weighs above 2kgs you should give 2cups of veggies per day
- If your rabbit weighs below 2kgs give 1cup of veggies per day
baby rabbits: baby rabbits food varies according to their weight
- Introduce food and hay for them after they are one and half months old
- nevervgive pallets to your baby bunny only give them when they are adults
- If your baby rabbit is less that 1kg then give her a tablespoon of veggies and fruits (apple, banana etc)
2. When to feed a rabbit ?
Hay should be available for them at all time and feed them veggies twice a day
8:00am at morning
7:00pm at night
3. Can I leave my rabbit inside my house without cage?
Yes, you can. You have to letter train them before you can free roam your bunnies. Never leave your rabbits outside your home (like in your corridor or balcony) because rabbits are prey animals so it is not safe for them.Always keep them inside your house and if you want to leave them outside for sometime make sure you are there with them or they are attend by someone NEVER LEAVE YOUR RABBITS OUTSIDE WITHOUT ANY ASSISTANCE
4. How to stop my rabbit from peeing and pooping everywhere?
Get a tray and put a newspaper in it and fill it with hay , for some days give your rabbit veggies in that tray (until they learn to use the litter box).
Rabbits usually poop where they eat so they will understand quickly.
- If your rabbit poops around the house clean the poop immediately and place that poop in their litter box so that they would understand they can't poop around the house.
- If your rabbit pees around the house first soak a paper in that pee and place it in their litter box and then clean the place where they pee and spray that place with vinegar solution to climate the scent of their pee.
For vinegar solution: take a spray bottle fill it with half vinegar and half water and shake the bottle before you use it
Continue this process until they are trained. Rabbits are usually fast learners so they will understand this very quickly but remember each rabbit is different you have to be patient with them .Usually it takes 2 weeks to get them litter trained but for some rabbits it may take months. It Entirely depends on you and your rabbit.
some ideal litter boxes and litter beddings:
you can find these in amazon
5. How often should I clean my litter box ?
- If you have a baby rabbit you clean the box once for every 2 days
- If you have a adult rabbit you have to clean them once a day to avoid smell
No matter when you clean the box, give them fresh hay every single day.
If you don't want to clean everyday you can use bedding on top of paper like wood pallets to absorb the pee and to avoid the smell .If you use bedding you can clean your litter box once every 3 to 4 days.
6. How often should I bath my rabbit?
NEVER, Never bathe your rabbit. There is a high chance your rabbit can die if you bathe them as they will go into shock and bathing is very stressful event rabbits they absolutely hate it .Rabbits are self groomers they can clean themselves. If your rabbit smells bad that means you are not keeping their surroundings clean just clean your litter box more often that will do the trick.
