RABBIT DIET FOR BABY RABBITS

 

RABBIT DIET - BABY (BIRTH TO 1 YEAR)

(VEGGIES, PELLETS, HAY & TREATS)


NO MOTHER: 

  • If mother is dead or don't have milk feed goat milk to the babies with and ratio of 3:1
  • 3 parts goat milk and 1 part water for 1 and 1/2 months
  • Feed the babies using syringe without the needle 


BIRTH TO 1st MONTH: 

  • Mother's milk (twice a day)

1st MONTH TO 2nd MONTH: 

  • Small pieces of hay(alfa alfa hay if available or else give them Durva grass
  • Small pieces veggies along 
  •  mother's milk (stop giving mother's milk around one and half month)

3rd MONTH TO 7th MONTH: 

  • Unlimited alfa alfas hay 
  • 1 to 2 cups of veggies per day 
  • Give unlimited pellets if you wish to give pellets per day
  •  This is time rabbits grow , providing them more food help's them grow faster and stronger 
  • Start giving very very small pieces of treats
7th MONTH TO 1 YEAR: 

  • Decrease giving alfa alfa hay 
  • Introduce Timothy or meadow hay 
  •  2 cups of veggies per day  
  • 1/4 cups of pellets of every 2kgs
  • Start giving small pieces of treat

Make sure the place you kept your bunnies is warm because lots of baby rabbits die due to cold 

(If alfa alfa hay is not available at your region just give Durva grass from the beginning )

Some time's the mother won't give milk to her babies them hold your rabbit down by holding her hands and legs and keep the babies near her stomach
